The Silk Cut Jaguar team was keen to win at Jerez in Spain in the 1986 1000kms World Sportscar Championship. 

There were no works Porsche, Lancias or the Rothmans-Joest car (which had been commandeered for Brands by Derek Bell and Hans Stuck) to worry about. 

This video shows what happened to the British challenge led by Derek Warwick and Jan Lammers. 

The Brun/Fortuna challenge came from Frank Jelinski and Walter Brun, and a second car with Oscar Larrauri and Jesus Pareja at the wheel. 

Could they outsmart the Jaguars? It seemed unthinkable... perhaps the searing afternoon heat had got to them!
