Held at the unique Mount Panorama location the 1989 Bathurst 1000 saloon car race was a major event for the Group A saloon cars. Peter 'The Perfect' Brock, Alan Jones, Denny Hulme, Dick Johnson battled with Britain's Andy Rouse and Bob Gravett. European saloon car championship stars Klaus Niedwitz, Gianfranco Brancatelli, Alain Ferte and Anders Ollofson were also very much to the fore. The race proven Ford Sierra RS500's dominated the field along with Nissan Skyline GTSRs and the Walkinshaw prepared Holden Commodore VLs. With in-car cameras mounted in no less than eight of the tin tops you are virtually guaranteed a co-driver's seat for most of the 161 laps.
