The Camel Trophy is not only about winning. It is about adventure, exploration, teamwork and most of all, survival. To simply complete the course is worthy of commendation. And to win is testament to far more than an adventurous spirit, good teamwork and strength. It is testament to the skilful operation of some of the greatest off-road vehicles ever built.
This DVD brings together three fantastic years of the ultimate off-road challenge.
Camel Trophy 1987 takes you through the tortuous jungle tracks, swamps and desert roads of Madagascar. Share the experiences of the fourteen two-men teams as they take on the elements and each other along their fifteen hundred mile, three-week journey.
Camel Trophy 1988 features the wild and seldom, if ever, traversed terrain of the Indonesian isle of Sulawesi. This unforgiving landscape provided the perfect challenge for man and machine, thankfully captured for you to enjoy, over and over again.
Camel Trophy 1989 took competitors into the ‘Green Hell’ – the Amazon – for the toughest event to that date. As if 1000 miles of gruelling rainforest track wasn’t enough, the organisers chose the rainy season to do it, adding another, rather muddy, dimension to the challenge.
Camel Trophy offers a rare opportunity for you to see 4x4s in their natural environment, driven by a band of men dedicated to the cause. And not afraid of a little mud and water. All right, a lot of mud and water!
