Since its creation in 1978, the Dakar Rally has inspired the dreams and passions of drivers throughout the four corners of the globe. In 2005, some of the greatest names in motorsport including Colin McRae, Jacky Ickx, Ari Vatanen, and seven-times winner Stephane Peterhansel, decided to become part of that legend.

This year’s competition definitely delivered on excitement, making it one of the most unpredictable events in recent years. With a shorter, more intensive course and less assistance vehicles, triumph depended on drivers’ navigational skills, un-faltering self-belief and spirit of adventure, rather than the performance of their vehicles.

The demanding route, which took teams through Spain, Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal, incorporated breathtaking sights and unbelievable challenges - all captured right here in this action-packed official review.
