In 2007 an amazing 264 motorcycles, 189 cars and 85 trucks and some of the greatest names in motorsport - including Dakar greats Cyril Despres, Stephane Peterhanse, Luc Alphand and Ari Vatanen - did battle with the elements during the fascinating machine and spirit-breaking contest.
