Product description

The 1996 Mini Miglia and Mini Se7en Challenge provided a masterclass in door-to-door excitement and across legendary circuits like Silverstone, Thruxton, and a rainy Spa-Francorchamps, the season was a mini adventure from start to finish.

The Mini Se7en Championship saw Phil Manser emerge as a dominant force and after a breakthrough first win at Silverstone, he battled heavy hitters like Rob Selby and Tim Sims. Despite mid-season chaos, including an infamous multi-car pile-up on Silverstone’s oil-slicked track, Manser’s grit secured him the 1996 title with 178 points.

The Mini Miglia class was saw veteran racer Peter Baldwin and the "Flying Fireman" Bill Sollis push early leader Stewart Drake to the limit. High-speed shunts at Castle Combe and engine failures at Silverstone kept the standings fluid, but Drake’s consistent podium finishes ultimately earned him the crown by a razor-thin three-point margin over Baldwin.

The season proved that whilst it may be small, the classic Mini is most definitely mighty and the racing in 1996 showcased this in style!
