Here it comes! The fastest real road race in the World!
Breathtaking – the only word to describe Ian Hutchinson’s dominant performances at the 2016 Ulster Grand Prix, culminating in a sensational new absolute lap record of 134.087mph!
The ‘Bingley Bullet’ as he’s known in some quarters produced brilliant rides in the Superstock, Supersport and Superbike races, but it was in the second of the blue riband events that he really turned on the talent.
In less than ideal conditions Yorkshire’s finest stole Bruce Anstey’s crown as ‘fastest road racer in the world’ by lapping in excess of 134mph – and also securing the UGP’s status as the fastest motorcycle road race in the World.
Anstey didn’t seem too fazed by Hutchy’s speed though, taking a solid win in the Supersport to maintain his own special record of podium finishes at the event every year since seemingly forever.
Michael Dunlop, Dan Kneen, William Dunlop and Peter Hickman, amongst others fought hard to keep the runaway Hutchinson honest and there was joy for former British 125cc Champion Dan Cooper who took a maiden international road race win in the 650cc Supertwins class.
The official review packs in highlights of the thrilling encounter as the best riders in the world push themselves to the limits on the super fast Dundrod course.
Filmed from multiple points around the course as well as from bike-mounted cameras, the review takes you in to the heart of the action and will really set your pulse racing.
