The 1992 Hill rally was a unique event. Catering for everything from standard Land Rovers to custom built ‘specials’ the event saw entrants competing over a series of time stages or ‘time controls’ as they are known, on a format similar to a normal rally but over far more demanding off road terrain. The result is often spectacular, quite often funny and the addition of an on-board camera and slow motion sequences help to capture the true spirit of the event. Amazingly in a male dominated sport, the winners were the young Simmonite sisters, Stephanie and Rachel in their Simmbugghini Alpha who were fastest over more than half of the ‘special stages’.
