Hockenheim, baking under scorching midsummer weather, was the setting for the most dramatic round yet of the 1985 World Endurance Championship. Whilst the Lancia Martins team put up probably their best challenge yet to the mighty factory Porsche effort, private Porsche teams again fared well. Much close racing is featured in our coverage of the event with Hans Stuck, and Oscar Larrauri in particular putting on spirited displays of driving. Meanwhile we also witness near tragedy in the pits as not one but three petrol fires leave 6 people injured including Norbert Singer, the works Porsche team manager.
