Round six of the 1986 championship was held at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit on the island of Notre Dame. Championship leader Ayrton Senna (Lotus) was raring to go, as was reigning champion Alain Prost (McLaren). But the man in top form was Briton Nigel Mansell in the Williams-Honda FW11. He and team-mate Nelson Piquet considered their Patrick Head-designed cars ideal for the fast straights, variable-speed corners and kinks and turns of the 2.74-mile Montreal venue. The cameras excitingly reveal all - and a lot more besides.
