“Curry Magic” is designed to teach the viewer a number of classic Indian recipes that can be enjoyed again and again. Demonstrated by the founding member of “The Curry Club” and curry expert Pat Chapman, the recipes include a lamb Korma and vegetable Balti, together with the two most popular British restaurant dishes, onion Bhajias and chicken tikka masala. Also included is a simple tarka dal and Pat’s very own fool proof method for cooking perfect rice.
Pat also lets the viewer in on some of his most tried and tested cooking techniques along with some practical tips on flavouring and spices. The results are “Curry Magic”.
Born at a time when Britain had just six Indian restaurants and precious little information published about curry available, Pat Chapman, a lover of Indian cuisine aimed to remedy this. In 1982 he founded the “Curry Club”, a medium to share information about recipes, restaurants and all things spice. Today the “Curry Club” has over 30,000 members and Pat has written 34 books, with sales topping 1.5 million copies! It really is no wonder that Pat has been dubbed Britain’s “Curry King”.
