BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP 90 MOTOCROSS
ROUND 1 ONLY - CANADA HEIGHTS - KENT
Conditions couldn't have been better for the start of the 1990 British 500 Motocross Championship. Speculation rippled through the crowds as World Champion Dave Thorpe mounted his new Kawasaki SR500. Kurt Nicoll seemed happy to be back in the saddle of KTM again. Rob Herring and Julian Rawson didn't seem to be intimidated by the bigger machines. In the first race Perry Leask revealed future championship form and Rob Herring gave the 500 brigade something to think about. Leg 2 saw a terrific battle between Nicoll and Anstie (Honda) and the last of the three races saw a surprise win. Another all action series had begun - great racing, great coverage.
