This exceptional archive film captures the magic of a record-breaking year at one of motorcycling’s greatest events, the Dutch TT. Experience the unique action and atmosphere of racing at Assen in a standard-setting motorsport documentary.
The evocative black and white footage tells the full story of the 1954 Dutch TT, from the arrival of the 150,000 fans in Assen to the scenes of victory after the chequered flag falls on the epic 500cc Grand Prix. We are also treated to record-breaking race action from the 250cc, 350cc and 125cc showdowns, as well as seeing how the fans, racers, teams and mechanics experienced Assen more than half a century ago – including the unusual alarm call employed by AJS!
It is a wonderful chance to see, and hear, iconic machinery from Norton, Gilera, NSU, Moto Guzzi, MV Agusta and more at full chat around the historic 10-mile Assen circuit of the day, flashing past the trees, gates and road signs which then lined the track.
The film is brimming with racing legends, including Geoff Duke, Ray Amm, Bob McIntyre, Werner Haas, Fergus Anderson, Rupert Hollaus and Ken Cavanagh, and is a rare chance to see these and many more greats on the limit in a classic race meeting.
