It is one of road racing’s newest events, but the Armoy Road Races are already producing some classic showdowns. Get set for action from a staggering 11 races in this official review of The Race of Legends 2012.
The 3.008-mile course features roads once used by the legendary Armoy Armada, led by Joey Dunlop, during unofficial ‘tests’ and provides all the perfect ingredients for a pure road racing event. Featuring modern Superbike, Supersport and SuperTwin machines, two-strokes and even classic racing bikes, there’s something for everyone in this drama-filled review.
Stunning roadside footage, on-bike sequences and interviews with the stars puts you at the heart of the action as riders weave between the hedges, racing elbow-to-elbow on challenging wet roads. There’s an all-star line-up, including Guy Martin, Conor Cummins, Ryan Farquhar and William Dunlop, but Michael Dunlop, despite struggling with a back injury, was the in-form man.
The official review is packed with gripping action from all 11 battles, including the Supersport race decided by 0.21 of a second and the jaw-dropping dice between SuperTwin KMR Kawasaki teammates Farquhar and Jamie Hamilton – including incredible on-board film of Hamilton’s race-ending crash.
There’s also a chance to enjoy a full on-board lap courtesy of Tyco Suzuki’s Guy Martin.
