Left-foot braking, handbrake turns, awesome speed. Don't
look away for a second because anything could happen!
Manxman Mark Higgins defends his title against 3-times BRC winner
Johnny Milner in this fully-loaded account of the 2006 Tesco 99 Octane MSA
British Rally Championship! This nerve-wrecking season was always going to be a
spectacle, but with a whole host of unrelenting weather conditions and
incessantly unforgiving terrain, the skills of the drivers and their team mates
were really put to the test.
In the early stages Ryan Champion and Higgins tussled it out in the
points table, with impressive driving from Mark at Rally Isle of Man and the Jim
Clark, and Ryan at the Ulster and the opening round of the Pirelli. But Higgins
emerged triumphant with stronger performances across the board and it was the
penultimate round at Yorkshire where he sealed the deal. On a day when a top 15
position would have been good enough to take the title, Mark put in a controlled
drive for the first half of the rally before piling on the pressure to chase
eventual winner Champion all the way to the end of a fiercely fought drive.
The gloves were really off for the coveted second spot which no less
than eight drivers could clinch. The last stage in Wales appropriately summed up
the entire championship, as the dramatic finale meant that right up until the
ceremonial finish back in Cardiff, no one was really sure who had won the
three-day rally. It was Champion who took the honours beating the young SJR
Hankook driver Stuart Jones to contest his third win, and in turn take second
overall.
DonÍt miss some really impressive driving from the Welsh wizard
Gwyndaf Evans. It may be a full ten years since he last won a British Rally
Championship title, but his success this season in the Mitsubishi Evo Challenge
looks set to propel the popular driver right back to the top in 2007.
With nearly four hours of extensive highlights from all BRC stages
including the Pirelli International, the Jim Clark International, the Ulster,
Rally Isle of Man, the Yorkshire and Wales Rally GB. Plus you can check out some
of the best-looking Evo Lancers and Subarus in motorsport. Fantastic on-board
cameras deliver the very best white-knuckle action from the heart of each
event.
