Matt Hayes is widely regarded as one of the the best all-round anglers in Britain and Mick Brown is known to be the predatory angler with an excellent knowledge of UK fishing sites. Join them both on this, their latest challenge, as they travel across England and Wales to bag some truly monster fish and break many of their own personal bests, catching some of the biggest fish of their careers. Meeting some of the current record holders along the way, Matt and Mick learn more about the fish they are hoping to catch and when and how each record was achieved.
In this volume Matt and Mick hunt for chub and barbel on the River Stour in Dorset and both have spectacular success catching some magnificent fish. Mick fly fishes at night on the river Towey in Wales and is absolutely thrilled when he catches his first night-time sea trout. Matt also catches a personal best of 4lb 8oz.
Moving on to the summer pitt at yately, the boys fish for crucian carp, Matt opting for the pole fishing technique and Mick trying his hand at float fishing. Mick's technique wins the day as he catches a personal best, weighing in at 3lb 5oz.
