Aston Martin started production in the years immediately following the First World War and was plagued by financial trouble until tractor magnate David Brown stepped in following the Second World War.

Despite the shaky start Aston Martin built a strong reputation for fast, innovative cars and high quality. 

With David Brown behind the wheel the company became Britain’s leading builder of 'grand tourers' but also tasted plenty of success in sports car and endurance racing.
