In 1986 at the all-tarmac Circuit of Ireland rally in 1986, the big question was whether the four-wheel drive Metros and Ford RS200 would overcome the previously all-conquering Opel Manta 400s, the fastest of which was to be campaigned by Russell Brookes. Jimmy McRae and David Llewellyn had the Metros, Mark Lovell the Ford, Mikael Sundstrom the Peugeot. But between them was a lot of very rapid stage mileage. The cameras were on hand to capture the very best of the action as the field thundered round the mountains, swept through the glens and skidded round the hairpins. It's riveting entertainment, with a sting in the tail from the in-car cameras!
