The 1983 European Formula Two Championship was contested over 12 rounds and across the 14 teams that entered, there was a strong international field of 39 drivers including Briton Jonathan Palmer, German ace Stefan Bellof, Australian Mike Thackwell and Italy’s Beppe Gabbiani who took victory in Round 2 at Thruxton.
