The fiercely competitive 250cc class of the 1986 World Championship Motocross provided thrills a plenty and can readily be seen in this video. Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Husqvarna, Cagiva and KTM were all represented at the Rothenthurm track which fully tested their capabilities. Championship leader Jacky Vimond of France considered he would have a tough task to hold his keen rival Michel Rinaldi from Italy. And so it was to prove. The pair fought it out accompanied from time to time by Michele Fanton (Yamaha). Britain's Jem Whatley was also riding well on the Cagiva and Belgian Jo Martens engaged in a fair old tussle with British rider Andy Nicholls. Good stuff!
