A wildly enthusiastic crowd gathered at Ettelbruck to see the final round of what had been the finest world series for years. Britain's Dave Thorpe wheeled out his factory Honda for the first of what were to prove two thrilling and drama packed races. Thorpe was in mean mood against the formidable challenge of fellow Honda teamsters Andre Malherbe and Erik Geboers as well as Kawasaki stars Georges Jobe and Kurt Nicoll. Sliding through the mud, zapping over the dusty leaps and jumps, Thorpe fought the pressure but did his luck and nerve hold? Watch the film and see for yourself. It is a marvellous record of the climax to the 1986 500cc championship season.
