The 1983 French round of the 250 cc Motocross Grand Prix was a thrill a minute spectacle and although the weather was dreadful the racing was anything but! In torrential rain Georges Jobe was completely dominant taking control of the event with a double win. Jo Martens collision with Kees Van der Ven gave second place to Honda's Jean Claude Laquaye. Britain’s Dave Watson (Yamaha) and Belgium’s Gustav Rahier (Suzuki) also competed at Chateau-du-Loire.
