One of the greatest advances in TT coverage was the arrival of on-board cameras, letting fans share the white-knuckle thrill of lapping the 37.73-mile course as the riders see it – just inches from hedges and walls at speeds approaching 200mph! In 2010, for the first time, all the on-bike footage was captured in High Definition, making the experience even more extreme.
Now you can watch complete on-board laps in pin-sharp HD, in sequences so clear they will have you leaping back from your screen as the camera lens seems to come within a hair’s-breadth of touching stone walls and grass banks. Our chauffeurs for the ultimate on-bike experience are Cameron Donald, Keith Amor, Michael Dunlop, TT legend John McGuinness and history man Ian Hutchinson. We also join Guy Martin, who provides commentary for one of his laps of the Mountain course. A combination of forward and rear-facing HD cameras let you share the hard landings, ripples in the road, astonishing passes and sheer bravery of these guys during the Superbike, both Supersport and Senior TT races.
The picture quality is absolutely staggering and the sound is unrivalled – the roar of the 1000 and 600cc machines is ear-splitting. Not only is this the best way to see the TT course, it’s also a chance to travel with Hutchy towards a momentous Senior win. Plus, American Mark Miller wears a shoulder-mounted HD camera to bring us the complete TT Zero race for electric bikes as he saw it. And because this is Blu-ray rather than DVD, we have also been able to include on-screen data showing you sector times and speed trap results – find out just how quickly a Superbike in the right hands can reach Ramsey with actual race data courtesy of iomtt.com’s TT Live! service.
