The long awaited return of the Gold Cup to Scarborough's Olivers Mount did not disappoint, despite the weather doing its best to put a dampener on proceedings.

 

Lee Johnston led from the start in the feature race to become only the third Ulsterman to add his name to the illustrious list on the famous trophy.

 

Elsewhere on the schedule race wins were more tightly contested, despite the extremely tricky conditions, as young-guns like Dom Herbertson, Brad Vicars and  Joey Thompson tangled with wise old hands including the legendary Ian Lougher.

 

As is so often the case on Scarborough's tight, winding course the most breath-taking racing was seen in the sidecar races where no quarter was asked or given in truly awesome display of racing on the ragged edge!
