The 2004 Junction One North West 200 promised wheel-to-wheel combat of the highest calibre. And it definitely delivered!
Road racing’s finest - Rutter, McGuinness, Archibald, Anstey, Farquhar and Lougher – lined-up with one collective objective: to tame the infamous ‘Triangle’.
And the pace was blistering from the off. Rutter showed his mettle with a masterful performance in the first superbike race. Then Anstey staked his claim with a superb Junior 600 and Production 1000 double. And Lougher and McGuinness made sure they weren’t forgotten when they bagged wins in the 125 and 400 class.
Each event stoked the adrenaline higher and higher, so that the final race of the weekend – the NW 200 Superbike – had the 175,000 crowd in a state of frenzied anticipation. And it was over in a blur. Rutter put in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him performance that broke records (and nearly the speed cameras!) when he clocked a colossal 201.1 mph during the race – the fastest speed ever recorded during a motorcycle race in the British Isles.
Luckily, UTV had it all filmed - so you won’t miss any of the action. Add to that the very latest on-bike, kerb and aerial cameras plus rider interviews and two on-board laps with Finnegan and Britton and you have the full, official and definitive account of the North West 200. Don’t miss it!
