In 1987, Ferrari celebrated it's 40th Anniversary by introducing it's first 200mph road car - the fabulous F40. It was designed to appeal to Ferrari customers who wanted to experience the closest thing to a race car. The company drew on the experience gained when creating the 288 GTO Evoluzione and in collaboration with Pininfarina, who styled the body, created a true racer for the road!
Enzo Ferrari passed away only a year after the launch of the F40, and it's safe to say that the last car that he approved for production still stands as one of the greatest of the Ferrari breed. Over five years of production between 1987 and 1992, there were 1300 cars that left the factory and today you'd be lucky to own one for less than one million pounds.
