Doyen of the British dance-band leaders, Fox was actually from Colorado. He arrived in London in 1930, opening at the Cafe de Paris. The following year, with a Decca contract and a fresh engagement at Monseigneur Restaurant, he assembled the pick of British musicians becoming toast of the nation.
