Pyotr Il’yich Tchaikovsky was undisputedly the greatest Russian composer of the nineteenth century. Having won an international reputation, his works were performed world wide. He was awarded an honorary Dmus. from Cambridge University and was lauded in a triumphant US tour. These were nothing compared to the continuous popularity of his work.
