This wonderful photograph from the archives of LAT is a
stunning portrait of the 1976 Formula One World Champion James Hunt.
This picture was taken during the Austrian Grand Prix in
1978, when Hunt’s M26 McLaren Ford let him down during the race.
His heroics on the track, exploits off the track and informed
TV commentary when he retired from driving made Hunt a hero to millions, and
this photo shows him in his prime.
