Product description

At the dawn of the 20th Century, Britain ruled the waves. Her ships traveled the oceans holding a vast empire together, and countless men and women were transported around the globe.

Economies were fuelled by the import and export of goods and Britain’s strategic will was guaranteed by the largest navy in the world.

From this small island the great liners sailed, including Mauritania, the tragic Titanic and Lusitania, the great Queens Mary and Elizabeth, Canberra and Aurora, the 21st Century ship.

The Century was dominated by two World Wars during which Britain’s maritime service played a crucial role.

At the beginning of the Century the naval power was expressed by the mighty dreadnoughts. Today it is nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers that rule the waves.
