If you desire style, speed, comfort and the ability to go charging over
rough terrain with your well-heeled pals in the back, a couple of dogs in the
boot and maybe a trailer hooked on behind there’s only really one choice – a
Range Rover.
Conceived in the late ‘60s as a bigger and more luxurious
counterpart to the hugely successful Land Rover, Jaguar’s Range Rover could
fairly claim to have invented the luxury SUV market.
Despite the acronym Range
Rovers have always been capable off-roaders and many of the older models can
still be found putting in good work in remote corners of the world.
With the
2000s boom in SUVs a host of new models, including the Range Rover Sport and
Evoque, have come to the market and found an enthusiastic buying public.
This
is the full story of the marque from conception to today.
The Best of British Series is produced independently but made with the full
