Huge dirt ruts and mud-clad bikes; hot sunshine and
torrential rain; demanding sand tracks and spread-out high-speed courses – the
125 World Championship had it all.
Traversing Europe through Spain, Austria, Italy and San
Marino plus a trip to Brazil and more, 16 action-packed rounds made the 125
series berm-busting from start to finish.
Britain’s Jamie Dobb (KTM), American Mike Brown (Honda) and
Frenchman Luigi Seguy (Yamaha) had some great rides but it was hard-charging
South African Grant Langston (KTM) who took the series by the scruff of the
Halfway through the season it looked as though he had
started thinking about the Championship but an ultra-competitive field meant
nothing was certain.
In case anyone needed reminding of this, a few surprise
results soon shook up the front-runners and kept them on their toes!
