The most challenging round of the World Championship series is the RAC Rally. In 1989 it was non-stop action all the way from day one. Carlos Sainz, Juha Kankkunen and Kenneth Eriksson drove the Toyota Celica GT-4s. Mazda (323 4WD) drivers included Timo Salonen, Mikael Sundstrom and Ingvar Carlsson while the Mitsubishi Galant VR-4s were piloted by Pentti Airikkala and Malcolm Wilson. Would the super-Lancia Delta HF Integrales in the hands of Jorge Recalde and Per Ekland prove too much for the Oriental usurpers? Hard driving and incidents galore - one of which was Ari Vatanen's spectacular roll at Grizedalein - feature in one of the best RAC’s ever recorded on film.
