Round 4 of the 1990 World Championship 500 Motocross series took place under a sizzling Italian sun at Cingoli before a vast and enthusiastic crowd of fans. Reigning World Champion Dave Thorpe (Kawasaki) was under serious pressure from a hot new title hope with his eye one Thorpe's crown. Valiant efforts were made by all including top riders Kees van der Ven (KTM), British champion Kurt Nicoll (KTM), ex world champion Eric Geboers (Honda) Jacky Martens (KTM) and Dirk Geukens (Honda) but the eventual winner showed all concerned that you can't keep a good man down. A memorable event brilliantly covered by eight cameras - the most ever in a motocross world championship!
