Armoy Road Races Review 2021 

Once a year the roads around Armoy, in Northern Ireland, are transformed into one of the most exciting race tracks you could imagine. 

The ‘Race of Legends’ attracts big entries as motorcycle road racing pays tribute to the near legendary ‘Armoy Armada.’ 

In the 1970s Joey Dunlop, Frank Kennedy, Mervyn Robinson and Jim Dunlop honed there craft on the very roads that are now raced over.

2021 saw a welcome return for one of the most vibrant and exciting races on the calendar.

Big names of modern racing were on the starting grid, including Davey Todd, Derek McGee and Adam McLean. 

In the feature ‘Race of Legends’ Michael Dunlop upheld the family honour by taking an emphatic win, to maintain his dominance of the class.

Guy Martin was a popular entry in the senior classic event, but wily campaigner Ian Lougher had a trick or two up his sleeve.

Spring Cup

The 2021 Spring Cup was the only event held at Olivers Mount, Scarborough this year, so it’s a good job it was a good ‘un! Enjoy all the action on the official review.

Cookstown 100

“It’s a sporty wee course” was how Walter Rusk summed up the Cookstown 100’s Orritor Course in 1933. 

Few would disagree with the pre-war racing star’s assessment. Although the course has been reduced to 2.2 miles, it still provides a thrilling backdrop for first class road racing.

Joey Dunlop, Ryan Farquhar, Michael Dunlop and Guy Martin have all added their names to the winner’s trophy over the years.

The 2021 edition of the famous races saw a quality entry list, and a packed 12-race schedule.

The official review brings together highlights of all the races as stars like Mike Browne and Forrest Dunn get down to action in the slippery, tricky conditions.
