The return of Freddie Spencer was eagerly anticipated when the 1986 series moved to the Salzburgring. Freddie had had a bad start to the season but was on the line for the fourth round and ready to do battle on the factory-backed V4 liquid cooled two stroke NSR500. The early form of 1984 champion Eddie Lawson on the Marlboro Yamaha had been electrifying and Yamaha Lucky Strike teamster Randy Mamola was equally impressive. This video vividly depicts the action from this very fast circuit. As for the 250cc class, well they offer a brand of motorsport quite different to most other racing - and Austria is a classic!
