Bike GP 1985 - Austria Duke Archive DVD - Description

Controversy surrounded the Austrian Grand Prix when rain forced the organisers to run the 500cc in two stages. Freddie Spencer won the first part and Eddie Lawson the other. When the race times were added up, Spencer was found to have won by just three-hundredths of a second! This video captures all the drama of the agonising tyre decisions made by the teams as conditions changed. Tension reached boiling point when wet-weather specialist Christian Sarron illegally swapped tyres on the line. Massive slides, delicate throttle control on the slippery high-speed track and incredibly close elbow-to-elbow dicing from both the 500 and 250 races were the order of the day!
