'Beautifully filmed, Parallel World shows Nick Sanders' unique, final, seventh circumnavigation and the fourth to be undertaken on the mighty Yamaha R1. Filmed on the road while riding an average 12 hours a day - across 41 countries and over 35 000 miles in less than five months - Sanders' ride across geographic boundaries transports him into an emotional and intellectual world often startling in its uncompromising observations of his Parallel World.
'This is the final part of the trilogy of Parallel World films and describes
Nick's journey down the Malay Penninsula, across Australia and then from Buenas
Aires to New York. The crossing of Bolivia at 16,000 ft, off-road, is the
highlight of the film. The journey also looks at Colombia before flying the bike
from Bogota to Panama and continuing across Central America to Mexico and then a
last dash from San Antonio to the boat at Newark.'
"Perhaps in its
totality this journey has to be considered the toughest road test for an R1 in
its manufacturing history. My job is to take it to the edge of its life, to keep
it there barely alive, until it is ready to expire. Then I will bring it home a
hero."
