This is the Official Season Review of Fulham’s nerve-jangling year in the Premiership 2006 / 2007.

With only one win away from Craven Cottage all season, it is easy to see where Fulham Football Club’s frailties lie. The gradual decline and perilous neighbourliness to the relegation zone became a real concern for Fulham fans after Christmas. It needed a win against Liverpool under new manger Lawrie Sanchez in the penultimate game to ensure Premiership safety. In the end it was just 1-point difference.

After a forgettable start to the season at Old Trafford, Fulham began its campaign promisingly and a run of 4 unbeaten games pushed them up in to the top 6 in the Premiership. Thereafter inconsistencies in Chris Coleman’s side crept in, demonstrably prevalent in the 3-3 roller coaster draw with Watford and the excellent win over Arsenal with subsequent insipid beatings at Blackburn and Liverpool. Christmas and the New Year proved to be the best part of the season for Fulham, with a creditable draw at Stamford Bridge and late-goal drama at West Ham and in the FA Cup against Leicester.
