Almost every frontline aircraft from the Royal Air Force is on display, including the Tornado GR4 and F3, Jaguar, Nimrod MR2 and the Harrier GR7 providing a show-stopping, low level routine demonstrating its awesome VSTOL capabilities.

A Swedish Air Force SAAB Gripen tears up the sky to show off the abilities of a true foruth generation fighter, while two F-16s, two Hornets and a German MiG-29 astound the crowds with displays of sheer speed, manoeuvrability and precision flying. An F-4 Phantom generates some of the biggest excitement of the entire weekend, its dramatic performance characterised by raw power, noise and smoke, and the Battle of Britain Memorial flight thrill onlookers by flying their vintage Spitfire and Hurricane fighters with their Lancaster and rarely-seen DC-3 Dakota.

The Red Arrows perform one of their most stunning aeroabatic displays of the season, while the Patrouille de France make their only UK appearance this year and the Frecce Tricolore team put on a breathtaking routine that totally captivates the airshow crowd... and there’s loads more thrilling displays as well.

One of the themes of the airshow was a spotlight on Surveillance aircraft. Full coverage is given to this aspect of the event, with film of the Sentry E3-D flying as a duo with the rarely seen top-secret Nimrod R1, static displays and coverage of fly-ins and departures which were not seen by the public.
