An exciting and informative look at the most glamorous and dangerous era of formula one racing; an era that saw the average life expectancy of drivers plummet.
This new film - partnered with our excellent Champion series documentary - looks at the British duo of Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins who drove for the Scuderia Ferrari - the only F1 team to have competed in every season of Formula One.
With their Italian team mate Luigi Musso, Hawthorn and Collins danced with death every race weekend, striving for the advantage that woul deliver another cherised championship to their formidable boss, the one and only Enzo Ferrari.
No effort was too great as far as Enzo was concerned - and he made sure his drivers knew it. Nevertheless Hawthorn and Collins were determined to extract every last drop of fun that life could offer.
As the last of the playboy gentlemen drivers they seemed to lead a charmed life on the track and off it. But how long could they push their luck before it had to break?
