This pair of programmes fills in the gaps between the Bike
Heroes series and the present day – interviewing the stars who made the ‘80s
Bike GP scene so fun and fascinating and contrasting their views today with
brilliant archive footage of them in action ‘back in the day’.
Rainey,
Schwantz, Mamola, Lawson, Rainey, Gardner, McElnea, Roberts and Spencer all
contribute their thoughts on what it was like to be in the eye of the storm,
and to ride the horrendously fast and unpredictable two-stroke 500cc monsters
of the time.
Capable of nearly 200mph, lighter than a modern 600cc and with zero
rider aids these really were the unrideables – and it was the job of these guys
to go out and ride these beasts every weekend!
