Disc One - THE NORTH YORKSHIRE MOORS RAILWAY - To travel on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, through the very heart of the National Park, is one of Britain's finest railway experiences, along a line, which for more than 150 years has stood tribute to the engineering skills of George Stephenson. This programme takes you first to the coastal town of Whitby, with its cliff top Abbey, fine beaches and bustling harbour, then on to Grosmont station.

Disc 2 - THE SEVERN VALLEY RAILWAY - For 16 miles, the Severn Valley Railway follows Britain's longest river, linking gentle countryside and historic towns, which are steeped in the relics of our industrial past. From the new Victorian style station at Kidderminster the programme journeys north, using the line's steam locomotives, including the great Marquess, a K4 class loco. There are also superb stations and viaducts, a waterwheel at Daniels Mill and the picturesque River Severn itself. At journey's end in the ancient town of Bridgenorth, there's a chance to see the Midland motor museum, before the world famous heritage site at Longbridge.

Disc 3 - THE KEIGHLEY AND WORTH VALLEY RAILWAY - In the heart of West Yorkshire, Railway possesses an impressive catalogue of steam locomotives. During the year the railway holds a variety of special events. This programme follows the events that took place during the Enthusiasts Weekend in spring. It also provides a fascinating insight into the operation of a preserved railway and features the inaugural running of the last fully restored "Jinty" No. 47279.

Disc 4 - THE BLUEBELL RAILWAY - The Bluebell Railway was Britain's first standard gauge, passenger carrying, preserved railway. After 35 years, this outstanding line, set deep in the Mid-Sussex countryside is still at the forefront of the steam preservation movement. Beautifully restored stations are complemented by an unrivalled collection of steam locomotives, coaches and wagons.

Disc 5 - THE PAIGNTON AND DARTMOUTH RAILWAY - The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway is the classic holiday line, with steam trains running for seven miles along the spectacular Torbay coast; a typical West Country Branch line which revives all the atmosphere of the Great Western Railway. From Brunel's terminus at Kingswear "Lydham Manor" climbs from the banks of the River Dart through deeply wooded hillside to Churston. There are magnificent views over the Dart Estuary and superb seascapes right across Lyme Bay to Portland Bill.

Disc 6 - THE WEST SOMERSET RAILWAY - With 22 miles of tracks, the West Somerset Railway is the longest in British preservation. From Minehead Bay, this line winds up between the Brendon and Quantock Hills, serving each of the ten beautifully restored stations, capturing their own unique character. The programme explores the many attractions, which are found along the way, including the Exmoor National Park, local villages, Dunster Castle, Cleeve Abbey and the August Steam Fayre there is also plenty of action up and down the line.
