How A Car Is Designed And Made is a great little film for anyone interested in the development of the car industry, as it actually was made in the late 1970s and therefore shows how time - and technology - has moved on in the intervening years! The fashion in car design (and designer's clothing!) now seems almost quaint and the production methods shown are nostalgically labour intensive but it's worth watching as a basic guide to the manufacturing process. The video features two short films which take you firstly through the planning, design and development of a new car, before moving onto the many stages in the manufacture of a new car.
Not a video for today's high-tech mechanic but interesting as a period piece in its own right nonetheless.
