What
can you say about MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi that hasn’t already been said?
By
the age of 30 the Italian genius had claimed eight World Championships –
including five at the top level of Grand Prix racing. His flair and style
combined with an enormous intellect and ability to read a race have made him
almosy unbeatable. Unlike many sports stars who have risen to the top of their
profession, Rossi has remained a friendly, fun and accessible character – his victory
celebrations always guaranteed to raise a smile.
In
2008, on his way to another championship win, Rossi notched up his 90th
Grand Prix victory to take second place in the list of riders with the most
wins. To celebrate the milestone, achieved at Le Mans, Rossi handed his Fiat Yamaha over to
Angel Nieto, whose 90 race win record he equalled that day.
This
stunning image shows Nieto at the controls of the machine as Rossi celebrates
reaching yet another landmark in his illustrious career.
