Racing The Silver Arrows tells - for the first time on video - the full, remarkable story of how the new company of Auto Union challenged the old established firm of Mercedes-Benz on the race tracks of the world from 1934 to 1939 with this original film from the Auto Union archive. Part 2 features the following highlights: 1937 - von Brauchitsch wins Monaco GP, then Rosemeyer wins Coppa Acerbo and talks about losing a wheel; he wins again at Donington, but Caracciola regains the championship; Rosemeyer and Auto Union dominate the Rekord Woche. 1938 - national tragedy as Rosemeyer dies in another record attempt; new 3-litre Formula and Dick Seaman wins a sensational German GP. Hans Stuck is Mountain Champion again with superb victory at Grossglockner; Tazio Nuvolari wins for Auto Union at Monza and Donington but Caracciola is Champion once more. 1939 - Lang wins Eifel GP and both teams stay at the Ring for filming; death of Dick Seaman at Spa; Caracciola wins his 6th German GP and Lang takes Grossglocker and Swiss GP, becoming European and Mountain champion. Finally, on the day that Great Britain and Germany go to war, Nuvolari and Auto Union win in Belgrade - the last GP of all for the Silver Arrows.
