The 07.05 from Merehead Quarry to Acton
Yard (7A09) is one of the heaviest freight trains in the country. Some 3000+
tonnes of freshly cut stone weave their way through the Somerset countryside in 45+ wagons, hauled by
a Class 59 loco.
Big Freight 1 looks at some of the heaviest
and longest freight trains in Britain
today.
With seven different types of diesel loco,
a wide variety of train types are featured: from Class 47 hauled Freightliners,
to Class 56 hauled MGRs to Class 60 hauled tankers to Class 66 hauled
car-trains.
In total, 50 different locos are featured,
wearing 15 different liveries and filmed from 30 different locations.
