The Lions fans who were in South Africa witnessed one of the most exciting and controversial tours in history where the Lions pushed the Boks all the way, outscoring South Africa in both points and tries scored, narrowly losing the first two tests before winning the final test convincingly.

The 2009 Lions Tour produced many great performances and heroes who helped to maintain the passion and ethos of the Lions. Theses included new comers such as Jamie Roberts, Mike Phillips, Jamie Heaslip and Rob Kearney, to veterans such as Brian O’Driscoll, Simon Shaw and Gethin Jenkins.
