Big Sam’s empire was as strong as ever during the 2006 / 2007 campaign. With a history of excellent signings behind him, Allardyce and Bolton Wanderers had high expectations for the season. The team did not disappoint spending practically all season in the top half a dozen, always vying for a UEFA cup spot if not better.
