Product description

Experience the evocative sounds of the historic 1961 Isle of Man TT, capturing the action, atmosphere and magic of this unique event.
Originally released on vinyl as part of the Stanley Schofield Sound Stories collection, these wonderful recordings have been digitally remastered and are presented here with the original LP sleeves notes.
TT winner and BBC commentator Graham Walker lends his distinctive voice to the recordings, with a script prepared by his son, the now legendary "Voice of Motorsport" Murray Walker.
Close your eyes and let the roaring engines transport you back to 1961, with the fabulous sounds of the Honda 4s, twin-cylinder Nortons, two-stroke Yamahas and Suzukis, four-cylinder MV Agustas and many more conjuring up images of a golden era of motorcycle racing.
You'll hear these marvellous machines at full chat as they pass the landmarks of the world-famous TT circuit, with the Walkers charting the race action as it unfolds.
Among the stars of the 1961 TT were Bob McIntyre, Phil Read, Jim Redman, Gary Hocking, Tom Phillis, Derek Minter, Luigi Taveri and a young Mike Hailwood - who sealed a remarkable hat trick of wins.
Listen to these masters at full speed, and hear interviews with the greats of motorcycle racing, including Geoff Duke and winner of the first ever TT in 1907 Rem Fowler.
This CD features highlights of testing, the 250cc and 125cc Lightweight races, the Junior TT and, of course, the Senior TT

The wonderful exhaust notes, commentary and interviews are not only a vintage treat, but bring you all the drama and action of a festival of truly thrilling racing.
